Incorporating Auger Equipment
Lodematic has developed a drum tilter with integral auger and take-off hopper designed to remove difficult and often hazardous contents from the drums.
Typical contents include paint and oil sludge deposits with the occasional brick and piece of clothing thrown in!
Throughput is maximised by the fitting of an auto index roller conveyor system to automatically feed the drums in and out of the Lodematic Tipper. The Tipper first tips the drums through 180º to allow discharge of any loose material into the hopper.
Any difficult residues are then removed by automatically tilting back to 105º and engaging the auger the full length of the drums. The drums are then tipped once more to remove the residue.
Flexible design allows a range of drums to be handled typically varying from 50 litre to 205 litre capacity. This machine handled a maximum load of 500Kg, though heavier weights can be considered.
Control of the tipper, auger and conveyor systems is by PLC enabling easy selection of tipping and auger parameters according to waste consistency. The PLC also monitors all operations and provides fault detection.
The auger is only used for removing solid or difficult product. Drum clamps can be momentarily released to allow the auger to rotate the drum slightly so that the auger screw can re-engage a new
area of the drum.
The auger also has an additional feature which is an internal solvent spray system to assist in the cleansing of the drums.
