When UOP specified a requirement for dust containment in conjunction with a drum tipping Lodematic once again demonstrated its in-house capability to provide bespoke product solutions to meet individual applications. Enfield based UOP designs and licences catalyst driven processes for the petrochemical industries. The catalysts incorporate platinum and part of the manufacturing process uses them. In order to ensure a safe working environment, particles of airborne dust which result during the tipping process need to be contained. Lodematic Tipper designed for UOP
The Tipper unit was designed and developed to incorporate special requirements to accommodate our batch process operation,including connection to a dust extracting system which had already been installed. The housing built by Lodematic provides total enclosure for the machine and features fully automatically controlled interlocking doors and fail-safe machine operation to meet Health and Safety Regulations and UOP’s own special specification. The machine was installed and commissioned by Lodematic, following a pre-delivery inspection demonstration at Lodematic’s Clitheroe manufacturing site and incorporation of minor modifications. The machine is well finished, very robust and working very well. It has been very successful.
